About Course

Before roads are built, under provincial regulations there needs to be an environmental assessment to study the land, water, air, animals and people. Similarly, under federal regulations, there needs to be what is called an impact assessment.  This has been done for the Webequie Supply Road Project.

Since Webequie First Nation is the proponent or leader of this project, Indigenous knowledge was also a key part of this process.

The environmental assessment/Impact assessment identifies the potential impacts how road construction and operations will affect the environment, people and animals.

We have created this easier to understand visual and written version of the introduction with links to the source material, to ensure that not only scientists and policy personnel can understand this, but lay people as well.
